I saw one this morning at Heritage Pointe Golf and CC, it had an intercool, a couple gauges and the biggest damn muffler ive ever seen, other than that it looked stock (sleeper ) i thought it might be someone on this board

ya, the tail lights were wierd.. ive never seen them before like that, they kinda bulged into round circles and the middle portion was the same color of the car, not the regular coninuous brake light, i couldnt tell if they were stock or not, it was a total sleeper
Yeah I know whos car that is. His name is Tom he's had the sr in his car for at least 2.5yrs. Originally had the s13 redtop sr in the car now has put the s13 blacktop engine in and just recentley swaped turbos for the Big28. BTY those taillights are from the 180sx in japan, I sold those to him.

oic, that car is pretty sweet, he must have been golfing this morning. Is he on the board? My buddy used to have a 240, i bet with a turbo his car flys, does he have any times?
red tops are s13, blacktops are s14,15. I believe they gained a few hp in the latter two models.Originally posted by MrX

Yah. The S13's commonly had Redtops in them. There were a few Blacktop S13 SR20's floating around tho...not too common.
The S14 Sr20det was ONLY in a blacktop, and it also gained a few horses, the S15 SR20 is again, a Blacktop, with a distinct hump or buldge over the 3rd Cylinder. It;s ouput was pushed to 250, wiuth a better turbo than the previous models.
With the S13, I think the only main differences between Redtop and blacktop is cosmetic, altho i could be wrong. I think blacktop was reserved for 180SX or SillEighty or something? where as redtop was for the S13 Silvia... Prolly wrong tho...
And, btw, Hollywoods car is a Greenish S14.

As far as I know he isn't. Not to sure what kinda #'s hes making right now but when he had his T3/t4 I think he made something like 240hp not sure if that was at the wheels or what. With this Big T28 I think he should see around 320HP.Originally posted by Wildcat

I absolutely love those 180SX tails. About how much do they go for?
Was there much difference (internal parts/ external ancillaries) between each of these engines? Just trying to learn more about the SR series engines.Originally posted by darknight

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

The ps13 red top and rps13 black top where pretty well identical engines, but the there was quite a few differences between the s13, s14, and s15 engines. The s13 had a low port design intake manifold, uses a T-25 turbo and if I'm correct 380cc inj. The s14 SR used a high port design intake manifold, used a t-28, and also had variable vavle timing. The s15 engine has the high port manifold, somethin like 440cc inj, uses a BB T-28, has a 6 speed, and also has variable valve timing. I think thats pretty well all the obvious differences.Originally posted by darknight

The S15 engine seems to be a nice starting package if large performance mods are the plans for the future. I'm guessing they are the hardest to come by as well tho.Originally posted by darknight
