So I pick up GoW today...

...get about 5 minutes into the campaign and my SECOND 360 dies -- red ring of death appears after the screen locks up and artifacts.

This is my second xbox 360 to go tits up -- first one was replaced with a newer refurbished model about 2 months ago.

What a fucking joke -- now I have to send this one back to Microsoft except now they are not paying for shipping and handling -- I guess they are expecting MANY more back.

where did you guys pickup Gears of War from? I went to bestbuy, futureshop and walmart at the Northland location yesterday but they didn't have it

spend the $20 on an intercooler from walmart or $25 from EB - it will stop these problems.

any blockbuster will have gads of copies. even the one in cochrane had 16 to buy, 16 for rent on launch day. you are probably too late, though.

Its a very small number.. 99.9% were modded.

There was another small update that was released if your 360 did not work after the update..

I would not worry.. the enhancements are worth it.

Me and a buddy of mine are still on our 360's bought before Christmas last year. They were puchased maybe a week or two before Christmas so they may not have been one of the very first batches but early anyways.

While the fans on the Intercooler themselves are fairly loud, they are not noticeable once the internal fans in the 360 kick in, so this was negligible. Picked it up tonight. I played the single player campaign for a couple hours and it is nuts! The graphics are incredible!

Ok so i just got through it the first time on casual. Pretty intense game!

I can't wait till they take this engine and style and make a sweet wwii shooter out of it, or a swat type game.
