    Default rear qtr panel rust

Got some rust on the rear quarter panel on my Integra, any ideas how to treat it and protect the other side?

DIY rust repair usually doesn't turn out too good. If you love you car take it to a shop for them to do it. I there is a thread on here about Screamin and they look like they do a good job. As for the other side you could take car of the paint, but I'm not sure if that would stop any rust that is already there.

If it's for your 'teg, start by taking off the plastic piece that surrounds your wheel well. All the plastic does is it keeps salt, dirt, and everything including the kitchen sink stuck underneath, wearing away at not only the paint, but the metal too. Then, buy some anti-rust oil from Canadian Tire and gently squeeze some into the cracks up there; the oil draws away moisture and will protect any bare metal from further oxidation.

my friend told me abotu that rubber strip around the wheel well, because it traps water and salt.... very good idea to take it off!!

Use 80 grit sand paper or wool pad and scratch off the rust. Its helps so the rust doesnt spread. If their is a hole then there is no use in trying to treat it, you have to take it to a bodyshop. Just to let you know most bodyshops wont do rust repair because they cannot garranty it will be gone.
