RIP, odd how even doing arguably one of the more dangerous forms of motorsport yet another famous person passes away in a helicopter crash as opposed to in a car crash on or off road. WRC won't be the same...

A fierce competitor and all around great driver. Watching him driving for Subaru was one of the things that kicked off my love of the brand, and rallying in general. RIP.

Dave Richards (yes, the owner of Prodrive) heard about McRae's accident and left the Belgian GP early, only to also crash his helicopter. Luckily, he and his wife survived that crash.

I remember that, that was AWESOME. Got all four back on the ground, punched it and kicked up dirt like it was nothing @%$'ing wicked!

He had a great videogame series too: Colin McRae Rally. 2005 was awesome, haven't tired DiRT yet.

Thats so tragic, I remember I used to watch him race all the time up until he finished. He definately was a legend. RIP to Colin and Johnny.
