Default Can You Make Microwave Popcorn in a Pot?

I know this may be one of the strangest threads, but my microwave just broke and I am really craving some popcorn. The problem is all I have is microwave popcorn.

Has anybody ever tried cooking microwave popcorn in a pot on the stove? In theory it should work, just not sure about the butter topping...

no I must do it exactly as the internet says. its part of the hack! besides, the internets always right.

tomorrow i'm doing the 1337 xbox hack for water cooling my xbox. I read if you just wrap it in plastic wrap and stick it in a bucket of water it won't overheat!

Funny, I just did this and do it all the time!

    Steps:

Get large pot w/ tight fitting lid on high heat
Cut bag of popcorn and put all of it in the pot
    Close the lid
Keep shaking the pot to prevent burning
    2-3 sec b/w pops = donezo!

    SOOO GOOD!

U can do this with regualr popcorn (just the seeds as well) put a bit of oil in the pot, I usually add salt as well at thsi time, heat up till very hot. Put seeds in and cover with lid. Shake like mad when begins to pop and it tastes way better than microwave stuff.

You can get a stove-top popper, it's a pot with a crank on the side which keeps the seeds moving around. Tastes just like movie popcorn when done right.

    I have an air-popper.

i have... well, errrr had one of those prostar crazy poppers.

its like gourmet popcorn, we got the popper as a wedding present and it has run its life course. it worked for like 10 months

the popcorn was really good though, like the movies in taste but you get to choose how much salt is in it.
