WTB: Cheap car audio advice / install / recommendation.

Hi All,

I am looking for a reasonably priced deck to put in a 78 VW van. Also some speakers to replace the crappy ones that are current in the doors (square ones). Anything will sound better than what is there now (not original stereo, a crappy pioneer cassette that looks about ten years old). The only requirement I have for the deck is that it has a audio in jack so I can plug in the ipod. Any advice would be great? Am I better to get the stereo and speakers installed at a shop or just find someone who knows what they are doing? If anyone here would like to help I am happy to pay for your time / advice. I am hoping to get this done in the next few days. Does anyone know what I should expect to pay in a shop for the install of the deck and two speakers?

Right now there are just the two crappy little square factory speakers in the doors. We don't need music in the rest of the van so I just want to replace these two with half decent speakers. Do I need to get larger ones (6x9s would need a bigger space cut, is that a big deal?). Or could I work with something that would fit in that space - these measure 5x5. If I just replaced them with these would I get half decent sound?

Yes, that would sound fine.

Thought I would recommend anything over Sony decks thats Just my personal opinion.
