How are you field guys doing these days?

The price of steel has gone up 60%, and along with the diesel fuel shortage it has caused havoc for a lot of Oil & Gas Companies. Field production has grinded to a snails pace.

I don't know about the field guys, but I'm hating doing procurement getting quotes back that are only good for a week

All of the rigs were running out of diesel last week due to the PC refinery being shut down.

The rig I was on had to pull into the shoe and stop drilling...

Same story from lots of other rigs we have too. I just left the rig a few days ago, last I heard PC had worked out a deal to take back fuel from a GreyHound fuel depot.

We just sent a couple trucks up to Zama and we got the guys to bring some jerry cans of fuel just in case.

Was into the office the other day and things seemed as crazy as ever. I'll likely be heading back out to the field in the next few days sometime. I quit back the first of the summer, so this will be my first time back out since, plan to stay out pretty much 'till breakup..

My company is the busiest we have been this year. We stocked up on about 30,000 litres of diesel fuel at the start of the shortage to make sure we had backup for when it gets real tough. We have supervisors and techies and mechanics scouting for diesel for us after every job. So far so good. We have not had to dip into our stock of diesel.

I just talked to the guys in Zama. The gas station in Zama wont sell them Diesel.


They only have 1/4 tank left and the next closest station is 250 km away LOL


I drove to hinton tonight. Thought I would top up in Edson... Nope, the Shell was all tapped out there. Luckily I had enough to get me to Hinton.
