Default Who has been the greatest live act ever?

Who has been the greatest live act ever?

The best band or act you've ever seen?

The Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, Bowie, Dylan, Kiss, Nirvana or someone else?

This Day in Music have just started a poll to find out. If you fancy voting for who you think should win go to http://www.thisdayinmusic.com

You can vote for any act, just go to 'other' on the list.

I'd hate to say it, but Spice Girls was probably the best live show I've seen ever. The recent Iron Maiden show ranks up there too. Clapton was awesome, but that's cuz it's Clapton.

Even though their music isn't exactly top shelf stuff, KISS really put the SHOW in showbiz.

They're old now of course, but back in their prime they ruled the stage of arena rock.

For me it's been smaller shows...Such as Tea Party...But I like smaller shows versus bigger ones.

But if I had to say one is a good show for gigantic concerts would be Rolling Stones.

Seen the Beach Boys too when I was younger...Not much action....Lot's of hot women...So it was alright haha.

Tool was one of the most intense concerts I've been to.

Aerosmith and The Hip were right up there for crowd involvement.

KISS final reunion tour was pretty cool as well.

All of my concert experiences have been eventful for the most part, all were in box suites and all involved plenty of alcohol...LOL

I'm hoping AC/DC does Calgary on their new tour. I'd love to see them live.

I voted for "the smalls" . It was 18 and up concert in Jasper, but we had some chick buy all of our tickets earlier, so they let all four of us in, no questions. It was my first concert, first time I smoked weed, 1st time stage diving / crowd surfing, a buddy was signing along with the lead singer, I got wasted, cracked my elbow, which still hurts to this day if I lean on it wrong, made it home at 5am after a fog fueled trip between Jasper and Grande Cache, grabbed 2.5 hours of sleep and made it to work the next day.

you're missing out on the most fundamental aspect of most of the shows you listed which would be to be an actual part of the crowd. Much funner. Not saying a box suite wouldn't be fun but jesus experience life a bit once in a while. Booze also isn't the thing that should make a show fun by any means.

Iron Maiden was the best I've seen so far. I heard from my buddy that Kid Rock was his best.

I like personal space and booze too but concerts are fun to be part of the crowd and where you can actually see the show....And well being part of the crowd is the only way to see some bands like let's say Gwar...Those who've been know what I mean.

    Iron Maiden was phenomenal!!

But Kid Rock?? I boycotted them on account of their total suck-age. Tell your buddy he needs to see more shows.

    Agreed.

    I hate people.

My ideal concert is one I watch while sitting on my couch drinking reasonably priced beer and having a smoke without having to miss 45 minutes of the show.

I've been to three Foo Fighters concerts and every one has been amazing. Dave Grohl is a rock God.

Tiesto (07) and Clapton were my favorite concerts ever.

EVH had some cool effects with the huge ass screen and the lasers that moved to his harmonics. That was a fucking cool concert come to think of it.

I never saw Van Halen, but the DLR Eat 'em and Smile show was pretty good (with Vai and Sheehan)

---and Harlequin opened in Calgary too

I agree with 89coupe for The Hip. I saw them from a box as well, and felt as involved as any other show I've been to with floor seats.

'The Franklins' from Edmonton used to do no handed head stands while playing guitar... pretty impressive.
