Default City successfully takes the Cecil from the owners

From what I understand, the city has tried to buy the Cecil hotel a few times and was always turned down.

Last week they served the Cecil with a close order to them based on safety concerns.

Today council voted to spend $10 million to buy it.

Anyone else see this as them screwing around and getting what they wanted to begin with?

The city backed them into a corner. They closed down the tavern side last week

and then turned around this week and said that they are gonna buy it. Well what do you expect the owner to do? Hes gonna sell. He cant make money off the tavern anymore since the business licence was revoked. I think the cancellation of the business licence was a bullying tactic on the citys part. (not that I dont agree with them. the place should be cleaned up)

I agree with you. They are getting what they wanted in the end.

$10.9M. Who would want to park their car or build residential / commercial property right beside the drop in center?

Now they need to change that homeless shelter into an office complex and move the shelter to the industrial area.

Well, they should have a shelter for the working homeless. But not for the useless cunts who do nothing.

I'd always crank up some ghetto beats driving by there and watch them dance to it.

Ya, cause that's how it works

I agree that throwing them all into a shelter is not a long term solution, but a large percentage of the homeless population has psychological disorders and chemical imbalances that render them incapable of getting and holding jobs.

You can thank King Ralph for closing most of the hospitals in the 90s for the current situation.

Pretty sure that the mustard seed and the homeless hilton, as its been called, support a lot of people that have jobs.
