Fucking punks smashed up my brother's car windows really bad...see pics. Can they dust the bricks or anything for prints? Or we can beyond CSI it...anyone know where these bricks are from or missing a big rock? This is in Huntington Hills by the way...the new ghetto of Calgary.

Although it could be some POS kids just wanting to cause some damage.

Dusting for prints isn't going to do anything. Call the cops, file a report. Call insurance and make a vandalism claim. get money from insurance to replace damage, maybe invest in an alarm system so this wont happen again.

Could easily be random. I knew a group of kids in high school that essentially do the same sort of random shit... tear street signs out of the ground and put them through windshields... piss in open windows... just stuff for unintelligent people that are really bored with themselves and each other.

I'm not sure if you can really get prints off a brick very well and regardless, they would have to have prints on file for anything to happen.

Someone did this to our Benz back in November. The only problem was that the rock bounced off. Thank those Germans for double paned windows. to the huge scratch in the rear window. I live in the upscale neighborhood of Kincora.

Agreed. When I lived there, I had 4 break ins into my car, and one smashed back window. Never really got anything stolen..just a pain to have to replace windows every couple of months.

I disagree, when you have to replace three panes of glass, its expensive, Insurance will probably be a $250 deductable, and maybe $600-700 of glass?

Alarm systems usually have an indicator light when the system is armed, this light will deture theives. If the light doesn't deter them, hearing an alarm after breaking one of the windows will make them run. another thing about an alarm system, is if your alarm is activated, the cars owner, as well as all the neighbors go look out the window at the car, they might see a car or some people bolting from the scene.

Depending on the system, it could not only tell you something happened but also that something is happening. I got a pager and when it went off one night I went down to find someone stepping into my car. Thanks to my investment I still have everything.

No beef with anyone...so i'm thinking it is just random, although my house seems to be targetted constantly...just last month before Christmas a bunch of kids egged my house two different occasions in a span of a week. Anyone know a place in town that has good nightvision surveillance cameras? I'm really considering it at this point.

You really need to educate yourself on when and where an alarm system is a worthwhile investment.

For eg.

No alarm - many windows smashed, lots of time lost for repairs and car basically is undriveable and youre out 250 for vandalism

Alarm - one window smashed, much less time lost for repairs and car is probably driveable - youre out 250$
