Bubble mania’s current line up puts it at the top of my list
plus wings that seem to always be on special
Still waiting for the Japanese green tea ice cream place ...

Tried Snowy Village over the weekend and really enjoyed their shaved ice, but hated their bobo (milk) drinks. Will have to come back when they have bubble tea.
Bring a Tiger Sugar to Alberta or Happy Lemon

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Everybody likes a lemon party.
They tried at a Japanese cafe used to be on Edmonton trail but no takers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
BTW sounds like there's a Yi Fang opened up in Beacon Hill as well and their gimmick is fruit tea.
I think the shitty job market is pushing a lot of Asian/Chinese looking at franchises they can run on the cheap. It's definitely saturated now.

Presotea has been consistent for me over the past year. Fast service and great drinks, not pleased by the requested gratuity when paying though. I feel scummy putting 0 so I'm always paying an extra $2 for these already overpriced drinks
Made it into The Alley today and the line was only to the door because of the rain. A line did form out the door along the front while I was waiting for my order.
Review - Not worth the wait lol
That said, Deerioca Fever definitely had a distinct brown sugar flavour and it's not something you can get anywhere else.
i've been sorta wanting to try this place out just out of curiosity. i think i'll wait a few more weeks until there are no more lines. gong cha it is for me until then! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

We didnt try Gong-cha until last weekend in Cross Iron Mall, I liked the Panda Milk Tea, probably my favorite bubble tea right now.
Wouldn't mind trying The Alley later this summer once it is less busy.
I have gone to more than I'd like to admit...
The Alley - Overrated, but try it once for the "hype"
Gongcha - Brown Sugar Milk Tea is my Fav Here (my go to for Pearls)
Cha-Time - Roasted Milk Tea or the Grapefruit Passionfruit Tea is my go to
Coco - Three Guys..but no better/worse than Gongcha/Chatime
Royal Tea (inside dragon city) - Nice cups, nothing stands out (Fruit teas weren't bad)
Ami Tea - Not bad coffee milk tea, but sugary af (even at 50%) (pearls don't have sugar)
Bubblemania - Smoothies obviously are the go to + food
Jusfruit - Last resort kind of place (decent shaved ice/desserts)
Café 16 - Terrible BBT (milk tea shaved ice is good though)
Yummy Q - Nothing to write home about (fancy cups similar to Royal Tea)
2030 - Good fruit smoothies and wings (Matcha Pearls were good too)
Presotea - Pretty good all around, better quality tea IMO
Apparently Yi Fang in Beacon Hill copied the same process as Deerioca for their pearls. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I like Gong Cha for their milk foam. With that being said I've found it easy enough to make milk tea as well as milk foam at home (I don't care for pearls). $6 for a cup of milk tea is ridiculously expensive for what it is. But then again beer should be even cheaper.
Finally tried The Alley yesterday. The Deerioca was pretty good and unique but their milk tea was just okay at best. I would probably go again for the Deerioca but it definitly wasn't worth the 20 min wait AFTER we ordered. It looked like the staff just no idea what they were doing the way they were trying to scoop the pearls or pouring the tea....
My go-to is still ChaTime roasted milk tea or Singapore milk tea with coffee jelly, otherwise Coco milk tea with pearls and pudding.
Walked by Chinatown today, looks like Gongcha and TheAlley has equal line up now, neither have people out the door. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
my wife and i had some time to kill on friday, so we decided to line up to The Alley. we were in line for about 30 minutes. we felt pretty stupid lining up this long for bubbletea, seeing as there are literally a handful of bubbletea places nearby, but we figured we'd give it a try, anyway. the pearls had good flavour but it was too chewy. the tea itself was pretty bland. not worth the wait, in my opinion.

Interesting, I'll give it a shot next time I go to Samosa Factory. Otherwise I try to avoid Beacon because of the traffic getting in and out. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Confirmed, Yi Fang has the same style Brown Sugar Pearl Latte Tea as The Alley.
