canadian tire in beacon hill has it apparently, checked their website. Just bought the propane torch at princess auto for 60$ on sale. Works great aside from all the neighbours staring as they drive by.
Bylaws aside; have you looked into what it costs to put down concrete? Something like a garage pad is $6-10,000; I can't imagine what it would cost to do a complete front and back yard.
Went to a couple canadian tires and they're all sold out of roundup but still have ecofriendly crap in stock. Going to check beacon hill today to see if they have any.
Youd also have to address grading and drainage issues. Thats why the bobcat is a good idea. your gonna have to remove some dirt anyways so why bother killing the grass first.

The gradient of death.
I sprayed Round Up standing at the left of this picture towards the house and moved across. That was 4 days ago Pretty powerful stuff, I sprayed directly at the area that is yellow and the mist created the partial death zone in the middle.

Ah round up... the stuff I decided to spray through the fence when I was young. A few days later and there were yellow streaks that fanned out from each gap of the fenceboards on the neighbours grass. Pretty easy to tell who did it, haha.
Find an army of puppies. Girl puppy pee will kill your yard. We got another puppy in winter so by spring our lawn looked terrible. We had to build a dog run to keep the lawn from looking ghetto.
Green gate still sells the effective stuff.
i can help you with the strong weed.. but those grass killing chemicals are beyond me
I've done everything to my yard to prep it for sod, I've used a torch to kill the weeds in the front, Weedwacker for the backyard, round up for the backyard. They all work but the only thing that they don't do is remove the weeds, now I've got a yard full of dead weeds sticking out of the ground
for anyone still looking for roundup. UFA has the big ready to use size. I think it was around $22.00.
Here's a tip for all:
Spray weeds just after first frost in Sept/Oct whenever that may be. While the weeds start dying they start sucking up the spray and come summer, you'll be relatively weed free, minus the odd one here and there.
Beats the heck out of doing it all the time in spring/summer.
