I m looking to buy a hitch for my 4runner 3rd gen.
Besides classified adds is there any retailer in town where I can walk into and pick one up today?

I could get you one on Monday, but most places are closed today.
I'd have to bring something in for you same day or next, so if you need something ASAP tomorrow morning I would suggest maybe trying "The Hitch Shop" on 42nd - good bunch of guys down there.

I bought mine from Car guys appearance center down on bannister road. Unless they have it in stock, it usually takes about a day to bring it in. You can also get them to install it for you too.
Do you have a receiver? Or do you need the entire thing. Princess auto has a whole bunch of hitch stuff there
Princess Auto is full of cheap Chinese garbage, Hitch Shop on 42nd Ave. SE is the way to go.
Depending on exactly what you need check out Princess Auto.
What kinda reciever ???
I have a bar & 2" ball left over from my pathfinder.
2011 Ram 1500 QC Sport
2017 Jeep Cherokee Limited
Can probably get a cheap one from the wreckers.
That's where i'll be looking!
yeah, pnp wont have any 3rd gen 4runners but who knows what other wreckers like to chargeOriginally posted by Colin_R6

There is a toyota-specific wrecker in the NE. I think its called A1 or something like that.
Give 'em a call! Probably cheaper than bending over a counter somewhere and paying for a new one!

Another for the hitch shop.
Ultracrepidarian
Better to bend over a counter and know you're getting higher quality newer more reliable stuff and a proper professional install. You should never skimp out on towing accessories installed by a rock bottom NE parts monkey, it endangers everybody on the road if you do.Originally posted by Colin_R6

Yeah, I would go with the Hitch Shop as well... they're right down the street from me on the corner of 42 Ave & Cleveland Cres SE.
Its dead simple to install a hitch, you dont need to pay a "professional" shop to undo some nuts, place a hitch and re-do the nuts. Most vehicles will also have a harness prewired somewhere near the rear, all you need to do is get the terminal and run it.Originally posted by dsr7723

If you go to the hitch shop, make sure there is no rust near the install site and you double check any trim they might have had to remove They snapped off 3 of the bolts needed to install my hitch and did a crap job re-installing the bumper cover, causing it to come off on Anderson and then said it wasn't their problem.

Crappy Tire or a Specialty hitch shop.
Maybe even Walmart Automotive section.
A snap in harness? Well Ive tried looking for the place that this harness will snap into but nothing. I dont know where to find this. I looked inside the jack cabinet behind the passenger side. Also under the car.
Any ideas?
