Studded Winter tires=GREAT!
Go try it out.Winter auto X is a blast.
I've never raced before... or anything.
Mods I have are SRI and Exhaust. A-Spec body kit.
I do have winter tires, not studded though. Should I come even though I have FWD? Or is it more for RWD/AWD?
absolutely come out, there are 3 different classes, one for AWD, one for RWD, and one for FWD. The body kit might be an issue but that depends how much you care about it lol. Winter tires work ok, studded are better but don't be discouraged just because you don't have studded tires, you will still have an absolute blast.Originally posted by Rocketright

Is it recommended to do it in a 2004 Outlander haha!
Sounds fun!
There would be some risk of rolling it during the event because of it's size/height and while your on course you have ZERO insurance so I'm not too sure if the event co-ordinator would allow it. Worst they could say is no, sign up, come out to the event and if they say no you can still stay and watch.Originally posted by flipstah

OR
Get a $500 beater car and then you don't have to worry about anything
Muhahah just signed up - going to need to borrow a helmet from the club tho.
Its not only about money. Its about freedom, friends and family too.
does anyone have pictures from previous winter autox events?
Anyone know just how much time you spend driving/learning? is there a lot of downtime/sitting around/waiting?
I want to do this, but depends on the above question and need to get a snell helmet tomorrow if its a go.
$20 - they loan you the helmet and it probably goes until the lights go outOriginally posted by DannyO

So no downtime at all? that would be awesome, so long as there is no waiting around for long periods before you can start driving again, that would be great.Originally posted by Zewind

I'm just gonna buy a helmet anyway as I plan to do more of these from now on.
Free to watch?
Is this in the parking lot at race city by the end of the drag strip?
There is down town. They line up and go one at a time. The next driver usually goes when the first driver is half way aroundOriginally posted by DannyO

The best part of life isn't around the corner. It IS the corner.
You will spend 50% of your time standing out in the field shagging cones. And when you are racing, the other half of the entrants will be out there replacing the cones that you knock over.Originally posted by DannyO

If you want to race, you have to work.
