This is a simple question... it's really got me thinking over the years. I'm sure im not the only one who has wondered this: Why is the top of the windshield on a car always blue?

The tint band cuts down glare from the sun.
However, they're not always blue, and sometimes there's no colour tint band at all.
If you replace ur windshield u have option of gettin it or not gettin it, or atleast on the 3 vehicles in my house...its like a 30$ add on
Also, most convertibles don't have it.
i thought that too, but it makes no sense because you dont get glare when the sun is almost directly overhead (the only time where that blue tint is any useful). that's why im confusedOriginally posted by FiveFreshFish

If the sun was shining through the colour band into your eyes, it will reduce the intensity enough that you might not need to use the visor, depending on your own preference I guess.Originally posted by hampstor
