Default Fixed a bad roll job from a bodyshop, and pulled my fenders out 23mm

So a couple months ago I paid a body shop to roll my fenders...this is how they rolled it:

HORRIBLE. And they charged me $500 to roll them too. :thumbdn:

So I heated up the fender, used some vice grips and pulled the lip back, cleaned out the crevice (there was lots of dirt and rocks in there), heated up and lip and kept moderate heat on the fender, and hammered it into place with a hammer.

    The Result:

Took me 2 hours to do BOTH sides.

After I rolled it nicely, I started the pull

    More pics:

    Went from rubbing on a 19x10 +22 (215/40) to clearing a 19x10 +5 (235/35)

Wow that was a horrible job. Didn't you check out the work before picking it up?

Not saying who did it, because they have taken care of the situation, and their shop produces amazing work, i've never had a problem before. Looks like a new tech that just started working there figured this was an acceptable roll.

No I didn't check it out, I trusted they would do it properly, and it didn't rub after I got it back.

I would have done it myself before, but i had absolutely 0 time to spare and i needed it done asap.

My guess is, it was screamin paintworks.

    It wasn't Screamin' Paintworks.

$500 to roll fenders is a little steep. Like Sentry mentioned we charge $75 a corner.

We do not 'stretch' panels for clearance.

We also actually use a fender roller.

I usually use a roller as well, but it's tough to do the rears on the older lexus's with a roller, there's like 3 layers of steel. fender roller would take FOREVER.

i find the hammer works best, it's more efficient and if you know what you're doing you're fine.

    that's super disappointing.

I don't know why body shops are too pussy to do this. It's so hard to find a shop around here that has the skill and balls to pull fenders or do a flare.

shops in the US do them no problem, it's a big market down there, especially with the VIP movement.

Like you just said though, huge market in the states, not so much in Southern Alberta.

    Regardless the car looks good.
