Asus EEE Pad

a quick search in google didn't really come up with anything. Is there any word on whether or not the current transformer will drop in price in preparation for the transformer prime? I picked up a blackberry playbook for 200 dollars, but if the transformer is going to drop in price, I'd rather have an android tablet.

From what I read they are keeping both lines of transformer. The budget (original) and the power user (prime). Not sure of the pricing will adjust though.. I thought they weren't changing.

that would be nice. Hopefully the original one would become a cheaper base model rather than the prime becoming a pricier upgrade.

I've heard now from a few insiders that the Transformer Prime is delayed and won't be out before Christmas anymore. They're having problems with the communicatoins hardware.

The Lenovo Ideapad at $319 is an awesome deal too. Checked it out at Best Buy, nice tablet. 32 GB too.

Might pick one up for a Christmas present.

Probably going to return my blackberry playbook and pick up either the EEE pad or ideapad instead. I'd much rather have an android device.

so i'm thinking about getting my wife a tablet for x-mas and was wondering if she'd be able to load her recipes onto one of these things?

she had complained that her recipe binder was too large and cumbersome and having to retype and reprint a sheet is time consuming.

would this or any tablet have microsoft word or equivalent? an app or program that i can upload her recipes that she already has saved on our PC?

Every tablet would be able to do something like that. On this one, Polaris Office is the application you'd probably use, it's a stripped down suite that's built for honeycomb.

For recipies, most of the ones my wife and I use are from the Net. Cooking for engineers is a good site.

Have any of you tried both the idea pad and the transformer? The reviews online for the most part seem pretty even. Trying to decide which one I should pick up.

Have a transformer, tried the ideapad at Best Buy, they are very comparable. The only thing is the transformer has an ips display, the ideapad does not. Not a huge difference but side by side you would probably notice. The price of the ideapad makes it the best bang for buck in my opinion, 320 for a 32 gb honeycomb tablet is nuts.
