The Calgary Police Service is looking into whether alcohol and speed were factors in a serious crash that sent three people to hospital.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada highway, just past the exit ramp to Stoney Trail.
Police report that the driver of a BMW was in the far left lane and witnesses say they were going way too fast.
Two people on a motorcycle then changed lanes and the driver of the BMW may not have had time to react, ending up ramming the motorcycle.
The driver and passenger of the motorcycle as well as the passenger of the BMW were all taken to hospital and are in stable condition.
The driver of the BMW is in police custody, pending the outcome of a breath sample taken after the crash.
