Anyone know how to install these kits? Nothing special, just want the actuators installed and the kit locks by turning the key. Let me know if you can do it. Thanks.

Check to see if your car has any wires going in to the door... if you do its easy... if you dont like me, you get lasy and just leave the acuators in there till you find time to do it

I did power windows and it's not bad. Installing the actuators is pretty easy, but you just have to make sure that you have enough room for them to fully open. wires through the door jams is pretty easy too, but yah, blood on your hands just means you're working hard..........or don't know what you're doing!! hahahaha
hahaha i wouldn't do that for any amount of money....my hands are too big to try to do shit like that
I'm looking for a power door lock kit. Where do you buy them and how much are they?
Go to pick yor part and get the actuators (solenoid) there they only charged me 3.99
wicked deal. thanks MR8.
There is a little more to it than that though isn't there? I have a control box in mine and tons of wiring that need to run through the car.Originally posted by MR8

Not Really, the solenoids that you buy in kits have 2 wires(as well as for majority of domestic cars), put positive on one wire and negative on the other wire and it goes one way reverse the polarity and it goes back.
I was at uncle bucks (like pick a part) off glenmore today and got a switch out of 84/85ish Thunderbird (it is a power window switch with 2 switches on it) and it has power+ground and 4 wires to go to the 2 solienoids (2 wires each) I tested it with and it works great.
Alot of the cars have 3 wire switches and they have some kind of relay attached to make it work.
Hope this helps
Most sterio shops and dealers will have the actualy kits for about 40$ .. it comes with a control box, and everything you need for 2 doors.. its about 60 for a 4 door kit

I say just get it done professionally, I don't think the $3.99
solenoids are going to last that long or be reliable... It would
be a shame if after all the work installing them, they broke or
didn't work..... It may cost extra, but alot of small audio shops
do a good clean job for not that much $$$.. just call
around..
