I remember reading that Switzerland is the closest to a true democracy.

Good luck to you both.Originally posted by Cos
Once my wife is done school we are traveling and plan to spend at least a week or two there. Both of us can get our EU citizenship (UK me, Denmark her) so we could theoretically move and get citizenship there easier than a non-eu resident (although they are not part of the EU). Swiss culture is really fascinating to me.
I know nothing of Swiss immigration laws, but I suspect that permanent residence is decided upon the applicants skills. In other words, are you going to suck from the teat or contribute?
Anyway, my comment of a "true democracy", has obviously derailed this thread. Let us continue to bury our heads.
Switzerland is one of the many nations in Europe that is starting to get really tough on immigration. So you better bring good skills with you if you want them to keep you around for the long-term.
Interesting... I need to keep this in mind when I do my taxes. I am self employed and I am paying myself in dividends.Originally posted by Xtrema
No. I'm saying OAS is changing, not CPP.
The only way to avoid cpp is to be sel employ and pay yourself only dividends.
