I haven't seen that guy on here in an unreasonable length of time! And that makes me sad.
I recall vaguely "arguing" with him about taking kids to Vegas, but certainly overall he was not someone I didn't enjoy having around.
    Where is this awesome dude??!

Picked up trim to do all the baseboards and door frames on the main floor of our house today, and got 6/12 door frames done.

I pulled a Samara-level of hairball out of a shower drain and then also cleaned out the "trap" in the washing machine. Didn't barf.
Have sweet pic's if anyone wants to barf. So gross. So stinky.
Human females shed more hair than an Afghan Hound! Why on earth do we let them vote or own property???!?!! Fuck.

Get one of these.. tell her to use it.. If she doesn't.. she cleans the drain. My girlfriend doesn't want to clean the drain .. so she uses the one she has. Its not perfect... but it helps a lot.

Any handymen on here who can help with mounting new simple shelf system and either help patch and paint or cover up the holes with a board? I just want something sturdy and safe god dammit.

Based on what I’ve seen, that’s what it looks like when @spikerS has finished working on it.
Did you want to elaborate on that?

Where did you go for trim? Reasonably priced?

I just picked it up from Home Depot, 192 linear feet of 5 1/2” by 1/2” flat and 240 linear feet of 3” by 5/8” flat was around $945 tax in.

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Timbertown can be decent but I've also had the best luck at Windsor Plywood - the only caveat on that is you need to cross shop all the locations because prices are not the same. Most of the time the one in the SE blows everyone (and all competitors) out of the water but not always. They are pretty good with email replies so you send them an email with the model number and length of what you are looking for and they can get you a quote.

I mean.... this particular job was documented on beyond without specifically naming him so its not a total secret (unless the thread was deleted)

I've had mixed interactions with him. He's been really good when he's bought tools off me in that he was really responsive, didn't try to dicker, and showed up when he said he would. But I also got stiffed on the last Beyond Secret Santa I participated in when he had me. He called to tell me what he was going to build (little half sized whiskey bottle display cabinet) but was waiting on a small piece which I knew was back ordered but then I never heard from him again and he disappeared. So YMMV

Back in my day it was the Back Alley or Cowboys (unless you were Asian), value was reasonable.

What's the story here? Used the 'heavy duty' wall anchors instead of studs? I think those things are good for pictures/mirrors because they pull straight down. Anything pulled out from the wall (shelving) they're shit.

This guy has been very reliable for me. Hanging some 70lb vintage mirror my wife found was not a joyous occasion.

Hopefully it didnt and someone can post it. Would be interesting to see how bad this was because he was always on here posting his projects and he was an upstanding member from what i could see. Not cool on the SS thing either, i got stiffed on a $100 gift once. The boys decided to do a SS and when we met for dinner to exchange the guy that got me thought we were joking even though it was beyond obvious we werent in the chats.

I can admit when i'm wrong and you're technically right because it was just a statement
I wonder if this is why hes not on here much anymore

I wouldn't stress about it. Not all of Beyond's recommendations have turned out to be great.
