"Police in Quebec announced the arrest of three men in the theft of 6 million lbs. of maple syrup from a provincial warehouse, a haul estimated at $18-million and enough to smother a Himalayan mountain of waffles and pancakes."

No wonder the price of Maple Syrup has been going up in the last few years, these guys have been hoarding it all.

How does one not notice someone taking 6 million pounds of syrup.

Canada does have a strategic Maple Syrup reserve, much like the US has a strategic oil reserve. There are other nations with strategic honey reserves.

Too hard to calculate because syrup is shelf stable (like 3,000 year old honey)

However, milk to nickel is trending toward 10:1. So in otherwords a 4-gallon jug of milk is trending towards $8 US for next year, if the price of nickel remains stable (never agiven)

BTW: There is no inbetween when the US continues money printing at the level they are doing, Either its $8 per gallon gasoline or $8 per gallon milk.

It seems of late, they appear to be willing to take a rise in food prices up to or even possibly exceeding Canada.

Also that corn heist is quite the job too.. Corn was only selling for like 2 and a quarter this fall back east though, so its only 80-90k worth, not 140. What I do find odd, is that is was secured and had cameras.. Not a lot of farms have that.

We'll see more and more food thefts as the price climbs and shortages occur.
