LOL..the Italians have moved on to higher end
cars such as Cadillac Escalades, Mercedes AMG,
etc. New Camaro owners are usually kind of like
typical middle aged Vette owners. That's funny
    though haha

QFT..if they could also find a way to make that kit on
a 5th gen and lose 400-500 lbs I would be inclined to buy
    one

Kidding, aside that actually stands for International Race Of Champions.

Its a big race that happens somewhere in the world, and the IROC Camaro's were named after it.

On a slightly unrelated note: I always find it funny when people say
muscle cars can't handle, third gen was one of the best for it's time
    period (in stock form.)

^ Yeah, I used to have a '90 Trans AM GTA, and holy fucking christ that car could handle, with its (WS6) Corvette suspension package... I never once squealed the tires with it, and I was trying oh so fucking hard.

I just couldn't psychologically bring myself to go any faster around turns... 130 around cloverleafs was just nutty. I was almost welded to the door going that fast around turns... and still it just dealt with it like it was no biggie at all...

I just stopped trying after a while.... I dont think I'll ever know what that car could do.... My car nut friends who've driven it were blown away too... they too couldn't push it enough to find the limits of it.
I just gave up... it was like... Im done trying to push this thing any more. Only when I stomped on the gas in the middle of the turn and ended up with some serious side ways action did I think I was starting to find the limits, but even then the front end just held on like glue. Probably the easiest to drift car I've ever driven.

The only reason why I sold that car, was how much it would have cost to make it stupidly fast as the T5 (5 speed manual) tranny couldn't handle much more power then the 5L it came with put out (which is why the 5.7's only came in an auto) then the rear end would have to be changed.... so after an engine I'd be with a 500-600hp car that I've sunk $15k into, only to have a car worth about half that by the time I was done.

So I didn't ever want to sell it, but it made little sense to hold onto to it, so I sold it about 5 years ago for 5k. Too bad, it was an ultra rare car, 1 of 70 made that year with the 5L 5 speed.

Too bad you had to sell it man, and thanks for sharing your story! I always wondered why the 5.7 was auto only..typical GM cheaping out trying to avoid warranty stuff lol. And I definitely have a soft spot for those!

Chev will fuck it up some how, just like how they have made all the versions of the Camero since the first gen fugly. They should have just left the car dead after the killed it with the 4th gen

Sorry I know you like yours hallowed

    ^^lol! It's all good..people like different things. It's a 90's car and it
has that era of styling all over it..personally I really like it. There's things
about the styling that I'm not wild about on the 4th gen, such as the cheap
    stock plastic grill

I always liked the styling of the Firechicken a little better. I wonder if they will ever attempt to bring it back and if so how will it be branded.

Same..but personally for 4th gens, I prefer these kind as opposed to the nostrily LS1 models. Whenever I see the LS1 birds in person I always think it's so over the top from some angles.

Would kill for one of these 96 firehawks
