Group E4 launched to buy tickets for the January 1 Euro Millions draw. The jackpot is an estimated C$198 million plus 10 UK Millionaire Makers.
Launched a new E group and spent more than the entire Group E2 balance to take advantage of the bonus prizes. The January 1 draw will have a bonus of 10 UK Millionaire Maker prizes. The prizes are C$1.7 million each (£1 million) and are guaranteed to be won. That is a total of C$17 million in guaranteed prizes.
Sales are expected to be around 28 million tickets for all nine participating countries. Assuming sales in Britain is about 29% of total sales based on percentage of population, then 8 million tickets will be sold in Britain. Dividing the extra C$17 million in prizes by the number of tickets comes out to an extra C$2.1 per ticket. Each ticket costs about C$4.2. The extra C$2.1 per ticket comes out to a payout of around 50%. Adding that to the payout from the jackpot and secondary prizes results in a payout of over 100%.
The other reason for launching a new E group even though there was an active E group was to maintain the 3 new groups per month average. The Lotto Max jackpot is at the starting value of $10 million and a new M group will not be launched until mid February at the soonest.
