Checkstops over the holidays

So the holidays are long gone now and Christmas parties are winding down (hey some people have late ones) so I'm curious if anyone saw checkstops over say the last month.

I saw one, on Christmas Eve here:

That was actually the first checkstop I've been through in...actually I honestly can't even recall when the last one was or where.

Did anyone witness a checkstop? When was the last time you've been through one? Are DUI numbers down and that's why we don't see them very often?

Man, in my 20 years of driving, I think I have seen maybe 15 checkstops, and only stopped in 4-5?

I haven't even seen one that I can recall in like 5 years.

Similar boat for me. I have never seen or been through one in my life. Even driving around at high risk times and places

Ive been through 6-7 checkstops but none in the past 67 years. Keep in mind that I dont go downtown at night as nearly as often as I use to.

Went through one on Dec 19th at around 1:30 am. Fiancé was driving her friend home and I was riding shot gun. Checkstop was on MacLeod South right across from the Toyota Dealership.

We were told to pull in and park the car for a chat but once the officer figured out that my fiancé was the DD and didn't drink, he we were free to go.

Other than the one occurrence above, the last one i went through was probably 6-7 years ago. There has been a couple times in the last year or two where I did go through one but they were still setting up (around mightnight)

Have checkstops been around since 1948?

I got my license 22 years ago and have only been through one checkstop, and that was in edmonton. But then again, I don't drive nearly as much as I used to. Transit FTL.....

I haven't come across a CS in the last four or five years but that may be a simple result of not being out late at night.

I've gone through one checkstop and it was on December 24th back in 2012. It was on Anderson road just before you head around the corner to the turn off to the Reserve.

They had one in Okotoks over the Holidays right on the 32nd St. bridge. It was kind of weird. They were really cautious. I think they were looking for someone, but passing it off as a checkstop.

Saw none this year. I think the last one I went through was an early evening one in December of 2012 on 10th street just where it crosses Confederation Park. I think that was only one of 2 checkstops I saw in the last decade. Maybe they're just always in the NE now?

I saw zero this year. and I've never been through one in Canada.

Oddly enough, the only one I've been through was in rural NZ around 11:00 AM on a tuesday. The cop and I chatted for a while, since there was nobody around, apparently that one was for training.

Went through 3 in 2014 in Calgary, all between midnight and 2 am.

Been through about 6 in my life.

The last one I drove through was back in 2008. I think they also do rolling ones now to do a spot check kind of thing?

Gone through 2 in Calgary in 10+ years of driving. One on Crowchild and one downtown on 4th Street right beside Holt Renfrew.

Most interesting one was a checkstop in Korea where they didn't speak a word of English... so the officer held up a device and started going "hoo hoo".

Haven't hit one since about a year ago, on south Barlow near 114th. I used to get stopped in that place on Memorial near CBC a couple times a year when it was on my way home from work (about 10pm).

I've been through 1 in my whole life on Memorial right by the Bridgeland train station. Saw one going up the hill on 17th ave towards Big Als probably 10 years ago.

That's about it.

I've been through one in my life (right by the Indian Reserve...), and only seen 3 or 4 in my life on other roads. They had the trailer out too, where I assume they take more accurate BAL readings.
