That used to be the whole point of journalists, to provide the unbiased view. Barb Higgins actually said it best (and I hate to say she said anything "best" lol), but she said she wouldn't return to the media if she failed as a mayoral candidate now that her political stance is known , so she didnt want people to think her way of reporting something was skewed.Originally posted by JRSC00LUDE

codetrap, there's nothing really crazy about the notion that media outlets are owned by Corporations and can almost be defined as lobbyists now. Hell, even I can remember when reporters/anchors/etc. NEVER made their political affiliations known publicly, most wouldn't hold cards as members of a party (at least not publicly) due to their journalistic integrity. Now the majority "report" with an obvious slant toward their own political leanings (or that of their owning body) more than anything else. Tell me that isn't divisive to some degree as it's only a version of the truth through whatever lens they happen to hold.
