Deerfoot has been steadily getting worse for years as thousands of new houses/condos pop up. I could see the SELRT alleviating some traffic but by the time it's ready it will probably stay about as busy as it is today.

Downtown definitely seems less busy these days to me, though. Could also be some people tightening their belts and taking transit instead of driving? Probably a bit of both.

Traffic seems normal for me. It always gets busier with school getting back in session.

I commute in off times (9am and 2pm) to crowfoot and I have definitely seen traffic pick up since oil has dropped.

I find its the same coming into downtown in the mornings. But I have noticed less nice cars. Before I would be surrounded by German cars. Now it's a sea of japanese and domestics.

Traffic at night as well which is strange. 9pm to be exact.

One small difference I've noticed that DT restaurants and pubs are still quite busy at lunch. Busier than during the '08 downturn. Maybe those fat severances?

Expect to see a large sweep of mergers and acquisitions in the near future, followed by more layoffs.

Just words I am hearing from industry members.

I've noticed the opposite. It seems much easier to get a table at Ceilis or the Keg on 4th. The Eau Claire parking loop seems to be emptier and emptier every week too.
