Good sized garage if you’re sliding a tremor in there.

I took my son driving last night. I was frightened. The kid can rip down ATV trails and mountains on quad with ease but drive to get ice cream? Sheesh.

Probably because it came with $19,900 in maintenance bills.

My 10 year old X5 has been fine so far, feeling pretty lucky. Minor leak from the T Case I will probably fix soon, and replaced the front brake pads myself for $68 with Bosch ones. Other than that the regular things like wipers, oil change.

It’s really hit and miss with them it seems.

I've owned a few german cars now. My anecdotal experience is the maintenance bills rapidly accelerate around the 100k mark. My S4 was falling apart at 120k.

Then again, the transmission and diff were replaced under warranty on my GLA45 at ~25k km. It would've cost ~$15k out of pocket if I reported the issue 3 weeks later after warranty was up.

I guess german cars are just garbage across the board, nvm. Killy is right. When the warranty is up. I'm living on borrowed time with my M2 haha.

Jealous! Need to get down there someday, had a trip ready to go but Covid closed the border and we've had too much other stuff planned since.

100k - 150k or as what @killramos said, when the warranty runs out.

It's still problematic for me, although intermittently.

All the German cars (BMW) I owned I got rid of them around the 3 Year mark.
Current one I am not sure when I will get rid of it. It is new territory for me.

And you're speaking of kilometres, not miles, correct?

If you bought a Toyota/Lexus you would never need things like wipers or oil.

Because they would be so boring I’d sell them right?
