I've learned tons of stuff on reddit, including tips to improve photo processing, web dev, SEO, etc.

Once you get beyond the "front page', Reddit can be a wealth of information. You just have to know where to look.

That said, I hate when I find a relevant thread on my topic and it ends before I get a complete answer to my question

i've been to a r/calgary meetup years ago. a lot of them are weird and entitled group of individuals. there were a couple decent people who were new to the city but i generally didn't find it like a group of people i'd want to hang out with.
