I collected about 2500 cards between the ages of 7-14. Didn’t know how to play the game but collected the cards. 15 year old me was an idiot and sold everything for $200. Several years later I realized that the collection was worth over $20k as I had few cards that went for over $5k..
Kept my foiled charizard and Pokémon though haha
Ha-ha it'll likely never be a super competitive deck, but you can create some funny game states with Mill, particularly in Modern. Few things feel as good as Archive Trapping a Tron player and then surgically extracting one of their Tron lands that was milled over. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Those tables are solid and see some good use. I'm.up there playing nerd games usually once a week on Sundays. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah, I needed to make them as solid as i could with the budget given to me. With how much bumping and flexing they were going to be subjected to by players, it wouldn't be very good for them to be wobbly and knocking figures over. I think each table came in under $70 to build, and I am pretty happy with how they have turned out. I also made them so that when the particle board tops start chipping, we can replace them easily with proper plywood tops with minimal effort. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Not sure if anyone is interested in Magic: Arena but I have 4 keys left that I can share!
Shoot me a PM if you'd like one.

not a whole lot. MTGO is the client that gives you all the control to stop at any point and is more in depth. MTG: Arena is a dumbed down version that looks and plays like hearthstone. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I honestly think that MTGO should have gotten an overhaul and then Arena wouldn't have been necessary. As it stands though there is a lot to be said for the simplicity of Arena and I think it'll do well being the standard format go to platform. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I dont think I agree. MTGO gives you WAY more control about where you want a stop to make a play. The way I look at it, MTGO is for the purists and more competitive players while Arena is more for the casual crowd. I don't think Arena will ever replace MTGO, I think the 2 can co-exist side by side just fine, but arena will port to mobile a lot easier than MTGO ever could. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I never said that Arena would replace MTGO, I just think that a lot more people will be attracted to it (initially) because of how easy it is to pick up and play. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The interface is too simple for truly competitive formats so I agree with you there.
Bump.
I did my first major tournament at the F2F event at UofC and did pretty well. out of the 250ish (can't remember the exact number), I ended up placing 72nd. I lost round 7 to burn which should have been an auto win for me, but couldn't get a lifelink card or leyline in games 2 and 3, and just didn't play round 8. So, I am pretty happy with my performance.
Also, WotC has announced a Grand Prix event coming to Calgary in March, and as a black friday deal, they are knocking $10 off registration!
Anyone else plan on going?
Additionally, anyone else excited for the Ultimate Masters release on December 7? I have lost a lot of value because of it, but, I am more excited that I can get more modern staples at a huge discount!

Only been playing commander casually with friends every week or every other week. Haven’t been to a prerelease since revolution games shut down.
I think you have only missed Guilds then?
should check out GRN set, has opened standard right up, and has made the format fun again.
I have a commander deck, but it is still stock. I haven't tried to upgrade it at all yet.

Yea, just M19 and guilds. Careful with commander. It’s a slippery slope, haha. Well all formats are. But when you really get the bug. Chasing first prints or foiling out every piece of your commander...ughThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I was there as well, but played the side events for Draft and Commander. Won my Commander pod, but that's about it in terms of any winnings.
I want to get the Ultimate Masters box as the ROI is crazy for it, but retail is ungodly expensive.

Was running my first modern deck, bogles. I was gonna play hardened scales, but I am still not 100% comfortable with that deck yet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah, UMA is crazy expensive. Best price I have found for a box pre-order is $375. But there is soooo much in those boxes, that i think it would be hard to not at least break even with them.

UMA has a ridiculous price tag and while I may purchase a couple of singles it's the first box that noone in my playgroup is planning on buying.
