Default Recommend me a desktop build

    Hey Guys,

The GF wants to start making yoga tutorials for youtube........................ yeah yeah yeah. Since its about time I upgrade my old laptop that acts as a desktop I figured now would be as good of a time as any to ask for some help with building it and picking parts. I got no idea what I'm doing so i would just buy the parts then have memex do the build. Id like it to be a multi purpose rig so i can use it for video editing, day to day browsing, and gaming. Any help would be appreciated.

edit: Budget ideally id like to stay under $2000

Does the 2k include the equipment you will need to effectively record videos in a studio?
I can eat more hot wings than you.

Without doing any work, here's a build. Literally on the front page of pcpartpicker lol. Places to improve on it are some faster RAM, a better video card or a different SSD.

Personally I'd wait for the Ryzen 3000 series but if you wanted one today that could edit video and game on (I will assume 1080P/60FPS gaming), this is how I would spend the $2K:

You could cheap out on the case and CPU cooler to stay under $2000 but not worth it IMHO.

Ryzen 3000 can probably shave $200-300 off that with roughly the same performance but you might be a few months out for that yet. You could also go Ryzen 2000 series and save a similar amount right now, but performance would take a measurable hit.

Video editing and gaming are pretty much the most expensive requirements for a PC haha.

It would be helpful to know what games you play and at what resolution and FPS, as well as what video you will be editing (eg. High bitrate H265 Log video or smartphone video) and what video editing programs you are going to be using (i.e. Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or Adobe Rush).
