America is nowhere near being a facist government today, but I’d say it’s reasonably accurate to say Trumps actions have been steps towards facism compared to other political ideologies.

Basic examples of authoritarianism would be him losing the last election but still refusing to participate in the RNC debates against other potential candidates. Even if he was leading in support that still circumvents the concept of democracy within the party. Another example is pushing his niece to take over RNC leadership as well so they control the party as well as the party finances. Although that’s in progress and may or may not be the final outcome. Having one person / family shift to control a party isn’t healthy for democracy. Can call it whatever you want to call it.

You seem to have a really odd definition of democracy to apply it so liberally to a private organization.

Authoritarianism is a thing. Fascism is a different thing. Communism is also a different thing.
Authoritarianism co-exists with Fascism as frequently as it co-exists with Communism.

I think everyone who uses the term "fascist" in this day and age doesn't understand what it means.
I would argue the left full well knows what it means. That's why they try to use it as an insult to the other side, because they are fully guilty of Fascism themselves. Psychological projection would be the embodiment of a leftists soul if they had one.

Not to mention Fascism, none of what he mentioned bordered on Fascism at all.

Trump was correct once again calling Haiti a Shithole country. Not only is a Cannibal Gang Leader named Barbeque running the place because they eat their victims, 4000 prisoners roaming free, the place in chaos with dead bodies marinating in the street, but now the US will accept all these "newcomers" that Biden loves to call them.

    So, convicted. Will obviously appeal.

Do you think this changes anything about the upcoming election? How many voters will change votes because of this? Will moderate republicans swarm to RFK? I just don't see it.

Overall this entire trial was bad for the American people. It's an obviously politically motivated prosecution, and if one side can do that, so can the other, and that's bad for everyone.

Trump now has a rap sheet longer than all rap stars.

Four or five felonies is usually difficult to achieve. 34 is simply go big or go home. Might be time for Canadian dollar and banks to shine, the USD might even be tarnished.

I can hear laughter in the distance - Its Putin.

Is it though? Shouldn't they be putting people on trial for their crimes, regardless of their stature? None of this "false equivalency" bullshit either. They should ALL face a trial for ALL crimes committed, just like normal people.

It's not like it can stop him from running anyhow. Guy won't be able to vote for himself, or buy a gun, but he can still be Prez and directly affect billions of people.

I wonder if the markets will reflect. If you can't trust Trump the president, you for sure shouldn't trust Trump the businessman.

Sell off the entire US board tomorrow and buy China, or Canada, or Austrailia, or Antarctica?

Many do not know that a few days ago the USA made a huge deal for Canadas minerals. The timing is right.

    Welcome to Banana Republic.

I suspect this just increases his support. It's not 1984 when you couldn't see anything from the trial, so they can rely on headlines to do the dirty work. People being able to see a rigging of the justice system in real time, for the purpose of taking down a political opponent, should be rather powerful. A lot of moderates are going to see that as a line you don't cross, and might vote Trump just for the sake of protest against the Dems for this massive corruption.

But prepare for the non stop messaging campaign over the next 5 months in legacy media. "Convicted Felon Trump"

Massive corruption of what exactly? That a jury unanimously voted guilty to all 34 charges?

Trump is a criminal man. But you seem to think otherwise because...?

Man... If you don't understand the ramifications of this trial I don't know what to say.

    Is Trump guilty? Fuck yeah.
Are all Democrats squeaky clean? Fuck no.
    Biden, Clinton, Pelosi, etc. etc.

What you have just witnessed is the weaponization of the "justice system" as a means to hush/ bulldoze political opponents. An incredible and dangerous precedence has just been set.

Shits going to get spicy in the US in the near term.

Read a history book once in a while.

....... Because we could see the trial and that there was no evidence. And see the judges directions to the jury.

Do you even know what the trial was about? All the other NPC's I see commenting about this seem to think it's about whether Trump had an affair with this porn star or not.
