I"m the kind of guy who would buy muffler u-bolts and thread then down from above. But I'm also the kind of guy who can miss a stud or joist with the first three screws even after I mark teh location with a stud finder.

Post a review or update when you're done. I've been on the fence / mulling over these for a bit now. Need some extra storage capacity.
I have a 4x8 in my garage and it's fucking awesome. Also bought at costco.

Stud finders lie, except when I'm testing them on myself and showing the wife.

Anyone used these (or similar) before? PITA to install?
Get a buddy and don't DIY. It's only PITA if you do it by yourself.

    It's a 2 man job.

Love them but it's for stuff that you are going to put away for a long time.

i did some alone, it wasn't hard haha...

i made some nicer ones with 2x4's, plywood and wire rope that you could probably almost park a car on. Felt much safer storing things on that near my vehicles.. but really the wire pre bought ones are good too.

I thought to be a man, you had to 'do it' with someone else's father?

interesting alley access to the multiple garages.
Ran the #s. I can do it if I can sign 25 of you fools up for $300/month of car storage for the next 30 years.
Then I could live baller cheap.

Storage discount if you allow me to rent your trailer out in winter while not in use.

Our old place had a 4x4 one from Hyloft (same thing as the Costco one). I got it as a demo for our work showroom from sweet talking the sales rep and it went straight into my garage, lol.

They're very sturdy, but a huge pain in the ass for anything you'll need more than once a year/season. New place, the garage ceiling is 12ft high so they weren't very practical so I just have a floor to ceiling one made from 2x4/plywood in the corner

There's lots of nice spots there. Many houses backing onto green space/pathways, also on the ridge backing on to Fish Creek.

    Same with Mckenzie.

The main drawback is having to get on Deerfoot to go anywhere. For people that work down south (in QP or something) and don't have to/want to go downtown or to the North, those areas are great.

I remember looking at the first property 20 so years ago.

    https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/2...nty-springbank

That dumb front patio wasn't there and I don't remember the garage being that big.
Low ceilings stuck out giving a smaller feel than it was.
Also staircase downstairs was oddly placed.

The dumb patio is dumb. Live in the country, still live your life behind bars.
