My friend thought that most places might not offer summer camps due to liability insurance implications, unsure what you guys think of that, you dont think that day camps/summer camps can operate profitably under these guidelines, I would think a cohort would be a room of kids not the whole camp. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Also I think this is the big kicker:
Many spaces where day camps normally run, such as recreation centres, remain closed

Does anyone know where to get the masks with elastics that fit over your ears?
Are masks appearing in stores yet?
Yes, a cohort is one room, not the whole place, but that's a lot fewer kids than any of these places normally run per room. I'm guessing any of the for-profit camps will not run. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Basha Foods off barlow NE has them. Got a 50 pack of surgical masks for $60. Not cheap but seems to be the going rate these days for disposables. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Wonder how much a gongshow this weekend will be at pubs/bars and malls.
is that not considered price gouging? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

London Drugs has 15-packs of disposable masks, $20 Had stock on Thursday

Not from what i've seen. Pre-pandemic, i think these were worth maybe $30 or $40 for a 50 pack, but now $1.00-$1.25 per seems to be 'normal'. My cousin is a director of massive commercial cleaning company that does at least half of the big skyrises DT calgary, and their wholesale price is around this as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Even above, LD is selling 15 packs for $20 and i highly doubt a national retailer like them would risk their reputation by price gouging. Just the way she goes.
If people don't want to pay this "new normal" price for disposables, then just use a bandana or some other reusable covering. I actually even just re-use these disposables...the main purpose is to protect other people from you (not you from others) so it does the the trick.

wow, had no idea they were THAT cheap before (10 cents each at Staples). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good idea to stock up on these early for whenever the next pandemic hits haha.
Yeah there is no fucking way I would pay more than $0.25/mask for those shitty paper thin ones.
I mean they are at least 3 ply and have a wire to help make them fit better along your nose lol.
If you find them for $.25 or less by all means let us know, i'd buy more just so i could throw them out instead of re-using.
So, are people wearing masks? I haven't really noticed that.

You see a few crazies at the store wearing masks and gloves up to their elbows. But I would say it’s sub 10% still. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Was at Costco on Saturday, i'd say 80% of people had them. Last time i was at Superstore, maybe 20%?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I thought I heard Costco was going to start forcing people to have them on before going in but maybe that was just the US.
I mean, if folks want to wear a mask to protect me, I guess I don't mind, but I don't feel like wearing a mask to protect them. It's my personal opinion that folks are going to be expanding thier social circles dramatically in the next few weeks, so your risk from the one or two retail stores you visit per week is probably not the biggest concern.

Also, testing for asymptomatic people who "work outside the home" is available for Calgary for one week. Y'all essential workers go online to sign up yo.

My only concern is going to get my haircut, that's why I want the over ear ones. Also I might have to fly soon. Need a few for that.
