Mallorca has always been advertised as a cheaper version of Ibiza. We chose to go to Ibiza but Mallorca would have likely been just as much fun except cheaper. Sucks this is happening to the locals though. Ibiza is safe as it's quite pricey so I think it's a bit protected from this issue.

But this sounds like a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation for Mallorca considering tourism is the main economy.

Didn't watch the video but I assume it's one or all of the following:

    a) Airbnb ruin the local rental market.

    b) government not planning public infrastructure properly.

    c) food inflation (more than normal) due to increased demands due to being an island.

Spent a few days around Benidorm a couple years ago, and the drunk Brits were pretty bad.

Majority of tourists have no respect, regardless of race.

I always thought this was adequate reason for Canada to ban visitors from California. It for sure will be when Cascadia hits.

$100 USD Billionaires are just going to mess things up for everyone already here. Does money really matter if you are living 30 people to a basement suite that smells like sewer?

What's the Big Deal? These are the sort of "tourists" that Spain should protest about. Engineered collapse of a Civil society.

    Spaniards are brainwashed Socialists.

    Think NDP voters, but worse.

They expect free public services, unemployment payments, retirement at 65, all without accepting any economic activity or working themselves. It's infuriating.

My business partner lives in Barcelona and the stories I hear about trying to get people to do their own jobs are a mix of hilarious and infuriating.

I think you summed it up perfectly.

How is the inflation there now? I remember other than major centers, it was pretty cheap in 2019.

Unemployment seems to be better than pre pandemic days. I assume job market isn't as dire?
