Unless the article has the timeline wrong... They play their first game on Monday Sept.27th, and literally the next day a guy tested positive. Covid doesn't incubate that fast. Did this guy showed up while awaiting test results?

Edit: I read wrong. They played Thursday,and the following Tuesday was positive.

It's difficult to follow your thought process clearly here, but if it will never stop are you implying that restrictions and masking should now stay in place for eternity? Is that your position?

The bait and switch on the "reward" of getting your normal life back by getting vaccinated isn't going to encourage anyone new to get vaccinated. I would argue it does the opposite. By piling restrictions back on the people who "follow the rules" you lose credibility, going to be a lot harder to persuade someone now.

This is why they're going to have to keep things like vaccine passports in place longer. When the 5-11 year old bracket gets approved, they have no credibility left to say "get your kids vaccinated so we can go back to normal", it will be purely the stick and "your 5-11 year old is now subject to vaccine passports too".

Even with that, restrictions are becoming more and more of a political tool and less about public health. We are in the most vaccinated city in the province with cases dropping by the day and you have a group of politicians with no epidemiological expertise trying to extend restrictions for no valid reason. Once they change the criteria that were somehow good enough when things were worse, do you think they won't go after the REP bylaw to try and keep that around longer?

Cases are still too high in the hospital/ICU to relax the restrictions. That's the current recommendation of health experts... Vaccine passport and wearing masks is keeping my gym open this time. I am all for the masks/passport it's a tiny price to pay to keep folks safe and businesses open.
