Should be pretty good. Glad they are going with an nvme ssd to improve load times. I find the shape weird though, hoping it fits into my tv stand.
No thanks - I had a XBOX S and I traded it for a proper gaming PC. Waaaaay better performance and I can do way more things. I can also upgrade a specific component at a time if I want.
The shitty internal components of this first release will be short lived as usual. The SSD might be fast but they will cheap out on absolutely everything.
Windows 10 essentially eliminates the need for a console - couldn't have done this so easily 5 years ago.

What do they cheap on exactly? xbox one x was very well built outside the thermal paste. For the money this sounds and the one x have been great. Also with gamepass and xcloud, it should be a pretty great all in one combo. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hard drives. Lack of space and reliability. If its cheap, its for a good reason. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also, never be the first to buy any new technology iteration as you always are a beta tester. Wait at least 6 months after release for the 14 year olds to freak out at MS.
Every single one of my Xbox’s still work (5 across 2.5 gens).
I’ve never had an issue being an Xbox “beta tester”.

^ The older Xboxes had issues with drive reliability and lack of space. Part of the issue was the start/stop (standby) feature that kills drives in a short time span.
Did you buy Gen1 Xbox One close to launch day? How many issues did you encounter?
This is not an evolution, like the S model was for eg. - the X is all new.
Never owned a gen 1, I started with a 360.

Only got hit with ring of death with original 360. Never had a problem with the rest.
But i have gone back to PC gaming last few years. Nothing Xbox offers excites me. And looks like they finally caught up with my PC.... 4 years later.
That said, if they priced this $700 or less, it's very good bang for $ for the spec they are touting.
I'll probably pick one of these up JUST so I can play my old xbox games without fighting with the died rechargeable batteries on my 360 and will have wifi. Haha. Everything else this can do is a bonus to me. Plus new Forza's of course.
Cos...
I like that the first item on the agenda is vertical/horizontal position.
I was confused as hell when I saw this. I was looking for the words "Project Scarlett" but I see now that Series X is Scarlett.
Told myself I'd wait for the Scarlett when I first heard about. So... I guess I'm buying this.
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
Well last week they said Project Scarlett actually has 2 products, Anaconda and Lockhart. We are just assuming Series X is Anaconda, the more powerful version. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Series X sounds like Anaconda with 4K60. Lockhart is only capable of 1440p60 which I assume will have a cheaper price.

I haven't owned a modern game console since I moved in with gf two years ago haha, but this looks really good. The full backwards compatibility would be a sell for me.

I wish it weren't a year away. My Xbone is finished. Randomly resests during any game (but not media stream like Netflix).
I'm too cheap to buy another xbone when this is "only" a year out.
I am still using my day one xbox one to this day at the office. Play cod all the time and zero issues. Have an external usb ssd to run the main games off of and it is fine. I have Day one OG, 2tb S and X. I only had my 360 fail (Twice). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Generally when new consoles come out they are loss leaders and compared to my PC, much better value per dollar. I did modify my xbox one x though with an ssd and liquid metal.
One thing I am hoping for is upgrades to the 4k bluray support as there still seem to be some issues compared to a standalone player.
