Lightning was a weird situation. I reserved one and ford subsequently never got in contact with me about it. I think the dealers were super salty about corporate inserting themselves into the order system and were ignoring the pre orders to make room for their clients.

I think they are refunding my deposit next week 2 years later.

Still can’t believe regular xlt’s are trying to be sold at 84k now. Saw one and it was 7k off and brought it into the 76k range. Will be interesting to see how the prices go over the next year.

Continuing my quest to find a Ioniq 5 for a reasonable price. Dealer in Kamloops has one I could nab today but still outrageous pricing. They’re double charging the $699 dealer admin fee plus a 5k ‘care package’ for PDI, nitrogen tires, mats, wheel locks, etc). Also laughably they’re changing $100 for fuel on a car that doesn’t have a tank.

Still ridiculous but that’s the second dealer now that has one on the lot so maybe the tides are slowly turning where they’ll start to build inventory.

A friend is looking for an auto Supra and every Toyota dealer is trash. Cheapest he’s found so far is $4k over msrp plus a “$10k” retainer to make sure he doesn’t flip it. Every single dealer is charging for a block heater too which doesn’t even exist for a B58.

Yeah seems like every Toyota dealer from Edmonton South is awful to deal with right now. He finally got them down to $1700 over msrp but the $10k “retainer” is a dealbreaker for him, he’s worried they will find some sort of bullshit reason to keep it so he’s not willing to proceed.

I think less than half of the vehicles I have ever owned has had a block heater
