Just curious... Ever tried some good ol feel good bribery when dealing with these teams/groups?

"Hey team A - thanks for knocking that repair out of the park on friday - thank-you. Here's some <pizza/cookies/coffee/swag/muffins>"

I used to pull that one out of my pocket on occasion when I felt like I'd been a bit harsh at pushing those other departments to get off their asses on occasion.

It's amazing what 20$ at timmies will get you in leniency for being a bull-in-a-chinashop...

It's fucking astonishing what someone theoretically smart enough to make $65/hr will do for a $9 sandwich.

"Hey this meeting needs to run late into lunch but here's $9 Quiznos while I steal quadruple that value of your time."

*use internal voice, so they don't figure it out.

Stop caring what other people think of you. Do your job, do it well.

Buying people coffee and sandwiches is the best life hack ever. If you want to really blow peoples minds, bet "special" sandwiches from somewhere that's physically far from the workplace. Spolumbos for example.

This probably doesn't work for Spikers, since he's WFH and his team is remote and/or based out of different locations. But for the rest of you hard-charging assholes, buy some food and people will start thinking you are nice.

I'm way less "me" than people give me discredit for.

I don't think being remote reduces the effectiveness at all... If you can show up and personally deliver - if you can't, just make sure you've laid claim to it - hey I sent some pizza as a thankyou.

Best part is the business probably has an expense line item so it might not come out of your wallet so much... Just got to dig into those rules
