    Default Secret Street: May 21st

Just wondering who's coming out for secret street. I've never raced at the track, but hopefully I will be there in my beater. I'm dying to try the auto-x. If the weather is nice, we should have a good turnout. I was gonna go last week, but I didn't feel like freezing my balls off.
I really want to see Z fans car out there!

    I'm going to go.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be bringing the Twin Turbo unless it's really warm. 15+ outside. If it is, I'll bring it for the 1/4 mile. But elsewise I think I'm going to just do the Auto-Cross with my other car.

Yes yes, I'm gonna go to the orientation too, so I can go around the track and see where I'm supposed to go. *I PROMISE*

    I'll see you there!

Of course it is! I really want to, but I'm having brake troubles with my beater Z, and my daily driver wouldn't pass safety becuase of a craked windshield. Hopefully I will be out there in a few weeks.

Replace your pads,... bleed the lines,.... and acracked windshield,... I have one, and they didn't even care,.... This is what they look for,...

    Brakes feel somewhat firm
seatbelt works properly, no tears , and retracts without hesitation,
    tires have good tread

    sometimes:
key won't start car unless clutch is depressed (not all cars i think)
    wiring looks to be safe
    e-brake works
    door locks

basically if you can pass a general safety inspection (minus the windshield), you should be ok.

    Sure can!!

Have some fun with the auto-x course, and then go try you're car on the quarter-mile.

I may make an appearance. I've learned a few little tricks with my car to maintain boost during shifts.

Yeah, maybe I will come out in a few weeks. I am just breaking in my new clutch right now. My car is slow as hell, but it would be good to get some numbers of my car N/A before I turbo it in the next little while. I should pull out my subs and amp too probably. They weigh a good 100 pounds.

The huge exception is that your battery better be in the stock location under the hood. Otherwise you need an external safety off switch installed. Burned a few people already.

Or is this old news and has been changed? I know there was a petition around here somwhere. Always find it odd that Secret Street would turn away perfectly good road legal cars and yet let some beaters ready to fall apart through.

I think this time if you go, you have to PAY for the Auto-X. So, basically I think that is $15. And the 1/4 Mile is $25. So I'm assuming if you do BOTH then it costs $40. (Too Much IMO) Basically I'm not really sure you'd want to 'do both' because you're going to be wasting money. Gotta pick one I think, and then do it all night!!!

The orientation (Ryder) is them 'showing' you where you should be going on the Auto-X. So they either walk or drive you through the course. ;-) This is specifically so you don't make an a$$ of yourself driving randomly on the track.

And people will then look at you and go what a dork!

When is this orientation? My car is slow as hell in a straight line, but it doesnt handle too bad so I was thinking of giving autoX a try, and I don't wanna be makin a fool out of myself.
