Do you have an alignment tool? What year?
89, no alignment tool
what is it hanging up on?
Do you have the car on a hoist or are you jackstanding it?
Kick it
Machining, Fabricating, Welding etc.
pulling with chains from over, i think we're gonna get a hoistOriginally posted by QuasarCav

Kick it
get a hoist and a tranny stand. are you doing this inside or out?
What is stopping you from putting it in? an obstruction? or just not lining up?
damn cavaliers!
It wont line up will an engine hoist help
Is it the same tranny you took out or is it a new one?
A good load leveler on an engine hoist will get it into the proper orientation nicely
"Its because they're stupid, that's why. That's why everyone does everything."
why did you have the tranny off?
sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless

I think they had to replace the 1st gear synchro.
I know it had troubles getting into first.
Get the splines on the shaft and give it a couple hard boots. It will pop right in.

the "shaft" must be lined up with the hole, then ram the fucker home like your doing a chick with a dick and it turns you on but you dont want to admit it. but dont force anything, you can be insert it with strength, and still be gentle.

CONCRETE PATIO SPECIAL, PM ME FOR DETAILS!
Without an alignment tool it will be difficult.
Those tools can be rented.
What does the alignment tool do exactly?
