Yeah man... ummm NDP are all about social programs... think Sweden... your taxes will be higher then shit... you are correct with the lowering of tuition fee's... but how do you do that? RASING TAXES!!! Anyways, good for the green party for doing as well as they did even though they didn't beat the NDP every riding seemed to have a decent number of green votes! Also congrats to the guy in Richmond BC who won independent from a party... that's hard to do!

I didn't vote. I had the same attitude as you, but I'm thinking that we may be the source of our own frustration.

I'll bet there are thousands of people who had the same attitude as me and you..."it's hopeless", but who knows what would have happened if we HAD of voted?

Man I'm definetely voting next time, so many people say it and we really should listen...GET OUT AND VOTE!

    Damn liberals.

Well, if Canada NEEDED more of an millitray, I woul dbe all for it...

But we don't. SImple fact for ya. No matter how big our military, we could never repel a US invasion alone (the most likely scenario). And the US would never allow (for their OWN reasons) anyone else to invade us.

So aside from UN sanctioned peace keeping (whcih we have more then enough for),can someone explain WHY we need more of a military?

    Serisously. Think about it.

    NDP: 19

    Conservatives: 99

    Bloc: 54

Do you know what this means for that asshole Independent candidate

I'd LOVE to be him right now. Do the math and see why.

Lets hope the NDP does not become the Liberals little puppet so they can have a coalition majority.

Then our little independant friend will hold the balance of power.

It isnt possible for the Liberals and the NDP to form a buddy buddy majority cause they come up one seat short, and the guy who is that lonely independent wanted to run for the conservatives but the party wouldnt allow him. This means he is as good as a conservative.

So here is to another 4 years of stupidity, maybe we can get lucky and get a vote of non-confidence and boot that bastard Maritn out of there.

A bloc/conservative alliance will produce 153 seats, and the independent (a conservative who lost the Tory nomination) equals 154.

The Liberal/NDP coalition makes 154 seats. This is awesome

No one can be sick/away for 4 years haha.

jack shit would have happened. your vote would have had the same effect as mine, added to the huge margin that the conservatives won by in calgary ridings. The Tories swept Alberta... but once again we get jacked by Ontario.

Both were quite close races... and it just goes to show that people from Edmonton need to give their head a shake.

No. It's the other way around. The rest of Alberta needs to wake up from their 1970 anti-liberal voting strategy.

Anne McLellan is the second most powerful person (next to the PM). Her rise is metoric. Wonder why?

She has alot going for her. But mainly, it's because she and Kilgour are the two Liberals in Alberta making a stand.

People in the West End/Millwoods obviously trend setters, more so than the average Alberta voter it seems. Check out the good stuff happening in those two ridings.

It's the simple truth, Albertans always vote anti-red. That means, no one cares about Alberta in Ontario.

Why should we in the west support a party that does absolutely nothing for us, the big one Kyoto, that is if it goes as planned, will kill the economy in Alberta, why should i vote for a party that is going to do that.

The world is becoming a very violent place. With more global unrest in areas such as Iraq, Balkins, Middle East, & Congo the UN Security council will be forced to make more decisions as to send peace keepers. More unrest = more peacekeepers needed. Canada is known for its peacekeeping and to keep up with UN & NATO demands Canada should have a slightly larger military and better equipped.

I am not saying we need to go balls out, Im saying a slighty larger military and better equipment would be helpful to those serving under the military, not to mention bring back Canadian Pride in the military.
