So I recently picked up a Cambridge Bluetone 100, and was told by the dude from Visions that it had a 15 hour battery, when in fact it has none.
Should have known better, as it was a 100watt speaker and no reference online made mention... but it was by far and away the best sounding BT speaker they had.
Unfortunately it doesn't suit my use case... I want something I can use in the back yard, at the lake and at the RV site... and this doens't work for me.
Sound wise? This thing rocks, its like 4 lbs (heavy) and blows away the UE Boom, Bayan, and other speakers they have there and is more comparable to the Sonus 2, and HK wireless home speakers, more than a portable bluetooth speaker.
anyways I'm going to look for the next best alternative, and I think I have it narrowed, but have yet to listen to:
UE Megaboom -- 20 hours battery, fully waterproof and apparently quite a balanced sound and can go "loud" with 360 sound dispersion
Beats Pill - very simular to the Megaboom with more bass, but I've heard is TOO bass heavy and perhaps sigle toned
Bose Soundlink 3 - I hear this is still very good, with good battery life... If its simular to the UE Megaboom, I'll go that dirction due to the "active lifestyle" design, but if this is better... I'll go th is way
Sony SRS 7X - crappy battery life, but I hear sounds really really good and is the cheapest @ $220
I'd love to try these others, but I don't think they're available in Cgy:
JBL Charge 2
Infinity One
what is your take guys?
soundlink mini is amazing as well, but lacks the SPL (as does the Cambridge MINX Go V2)
