I have a buddy who is looking at a GLC 63. What else Should he be looking at? He has had bad experiances with BMW, so they are out. What is out there that ticks the performance/luxury/cost that the Merc. offers.

Premium package for the MBUX setup, Intelligent Drive package for the self driving bits, and AMG drivers package are my must haves for pretty much every new AMG out of Canada. You can't choose things a-la-carte so you're stuck with those 3 packages as must haves.
edit - totally read the thread wrong lol.

Macan is the obvious cross shop to me. Probably a fair but slower than the 63S though. But a way nicer car if that’s important to you.
GLC interior never turned my crank, and I used to have a C.

SQ5 is worth a look.
I'm trying to talk him into a Mayan turbo. I think it will be a bit more $ When he packages it out. Also gave him the budget option of a sq5. It's like 30k cheaper at least. I love the look of the Jag F pace svr...
Macan GTS is the sweet spot for Macan. Turbo just isn’t fast enough for the money.
You are 100k to start for a Macan turbo for a car that will struggle to hit 0-60 in 4.5s with AWD. Snooze.

I don't think there is a hope he would go for the GTS when comparing to 500hp GLC. I think we will test drive the Porsche because it's a PorscheThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
BMW X3M Competition?
edit: never mind didn't fully read the OP post.
You would only consider the Macan if different things are important to you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I love them and I’m not a Pcar guy at all.
Personally if go fast is your schtick I would go with the X5M, but I get that BMW is off the table.

In that segment, the GLC63 is the right choice.

Macan in GTS/Turbo trim is the best overall vehicle in this segment but it comes at the cost of tightest interior and the 2.9L V6 is weak compared to the competition. Other than that it's the only one that really feels close to driving a car.
