Trying out a set of Michelin X-Ice Snows on the wife's MB this year. Tried Blizzaks on my daily, but still can't beat the Michelins. Hopefully these perform better than the old I3s.....

Buying another set of these to run on the Subie, ran them studded on an E46 and it kicked ass in the winter. Always run studded if you can, nothing better.

You don't have to go to Kal Tire for Nokians
Picking up my Hakka 10s on new winter wheels in 2 weeks from Spec R. Won't go back to anything else.

I bought Bridgestone WeatherPeaks (all-weather), let's see how they do. My Michelin CC2s on the other car did well over the winter.
I love the studded Hakka 9s I run on my Golf R. Only downside is on dry pavement, they can feel like they're skating a bit during hard stops. A bit slippy on wet too. But absolutely awesome in fresh snow and on ice.
When they wear out if I decide to go studless for my next set I'll return to Blizzak WS90s.

We had the 1st gen X-Ice on my wife's Altima years ago and were not impressed. Thus I've had a bias for Blizzaks over X-Ice ever since. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Currently running XTRM on the Cayenne and Viking 7 on the wagon. Both tires seem to be okay, will probably try North 4's next if I can find the right sizing.
Original X-Ice's came out in like 2002 didn't they? I'm not biased for or against, but might be worth revisiting your bias since the data point is likely no longer relevant haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
+1 for Hakka's or Blizzaks. Was not impressed with the X-Ice3's that I've tried on multiple vehicles.
I’m a bit slow today. Are you saying Country Tires had the best pricing compared to the others, or worse? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
@Ekliptix I sent Ryan an email, do I need to mention anything else about the group buy or who sent me? Any idea what location he's at?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No, I just told him I'm contacting him about the Nokian group buy. Price came back cheaper then any online pricing I could find. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Any idea what store he's at? I reached out this weekend and haven't heard back.
i bought the cheapest winters I could last year (Kumho wintercraft) and then studded them for my X5.
Paid $760 shipped @ quattrotires.com in Quebec
Never had any kind of issue with traction or bad wear after one season (lots of drives through the mountains)

+1 hakkas. I do a lot of blizzard/poor conditions driving and they are just phenomenal

Hakks do the job properly. Yes expensive and yes wear quicker than the competition, but no one makes a better performing tire for winter weather.
Summers....look elsewhere.

I didn't like the Hakkas and have found much better performance from Goodyear Winter Commands and studded Cooper Discoverer Winters

Used Michelin and Blizzak in the past, but recently went to hakkas for the last 3 vehicles. Will be buying Hakkas for the new vehicle as they felt better to drive on than other winters I’ve had in the past
