Is anyone using these do they work ok? Ebay ones are pretty cheap and I dont think the expensive ones are really anything better..

i've installed mechanical o2 sensor CEL fix, simulator or whatever you call them on a WRX and a Sentra in the past. they seem to work fine for keeping keeping the CEL from tripping.
from what i can tell, its just a drilled out sparkplug extension used to place the o2 sensor further away from the exhaust stream.
The mechanical fix is the way to go. You can get partsource to order the sparkplug anti fowlers.

So then u take the sensor off the cat, put it in this thing and tie it up somewhere out of the way? Then bingo it never cels?Originally posted by benyl

Or do u take the sensor off the cat, put it in this thing then install the new device on a strait pipe?
this is a bit ghetto imo. its just the plating on that fitting that reacts with the o2 sensor. but whatever works i guessOriginally posted by benyl

You could make your own too with a 0.5watt 3 ohm resistor (you would have to confirm with an ammeter just to be sure)
Maybe a stupid question, but why would you need one of these?

To get rid of the annoying CEL from staying on.
from what I understand the O2 sensor is removed, the anti fouler is threaded in where the O2 sensor was, and then the O2 sensor is threaded back into the anti-fouler. The basic idea is to move the O2 sensor a little further out of the pipe itself so it doesn't sample as much of the exhaust.Originally posted by Hollywood

I was going to do this on my mustang, but a few people told me you have to remove and clean the anti-fouler from time to time and I didn't want to hassle with that, so I got the electrical type from this web site http://www.adaptiveperformance.com
it was only like 10 or 11 bucks and so far all is good.
I got a computer chip tuned for my supercharger and the guy said he could just shut the O2 sensors after the cat off but he nor I was sure if when I have to do a smog test, weather they would be able to tell they were shut off, so I just left it the way it is with the electrical mils.
