modding a ps2

Hey does anyone know of a good place where I can get my ps2 modded?

There are some places in China town that will do it - my friend has one, but he paid $130 for it!

It also wrecks the PS2 - sometimes, it'll stall while turning on, so you have to reset a few times. It gets really annoying

mines broken now.. don't trust that animage place in downtown.
he said if i had any problems, he would take the chip out, but when i actually asked him to take it out, he said that there was only a 30% chance that my ps2 would run, and that bastard never took it out.

would you be able to look at my ps2?
i think its the dvd lense that won't read, cause i can't run dvd's/ps2 games, but it can still read cd's.

Yea, the old mod chips were abit etchy, but the new ones they have going on in Vancouver and Toronto don't have any problems now.
