I nearly did the same thing on Saturday. My friend knocked one of my swords off the stand, I went to grab it, I got it by the sheath but not before part of it slipped out and my thumb got the blade. I got a 1.5 inch cut on my thumb down to the bone. Funny thing is that it didn't hurt very much, just felt like I was pricked, until I saw the blood gushing down my hand.

I'm in the exact same boat, didn't hurt at first, but after about an hour it sure did!, and even more so today seeing as I had to get stitches to reattatch it, and they are through my thumbnail. The worst is seeing a peice of your thumb on your desk.

It was rather wierd looking. I did it cutting a rose stem, and so on my desk there was 1 lone rose with blood all over it and the desk top...kinda like a movie.
