Default Online sites or local travel agents?

Has anyone had any luck with local travel agents matching an online vendor?

I have to go to the states in a couple weeks and i've found round trip airfare to oklahoma (where im going) online for around $600.00 through expedia.ca.

If I could deal with someone locally, it would make things easier. I would prefer to do that, so does anyone know a travel agency that can meet or beat online ads?

Flightcentre, I believe will match any price and beat it, if you find another price...

Depending on where you go, TA seems to be cheaper...checked flights to HKG and it was 300 dollars cheaper using TA than booking on Air Canada.

Most of them, including expedia, travelocity, and your link above hover around the $600cdn range all in. It's a reasonable price fo a return flight to a relatively unpopular destination. I'm just hoping to find someone local who can match the online quoted prices.

Local travel agent saved me nearly 200 Euro, absolutely recommend talking with one.

Three times going to Vegas...Trip to Australia..and dozens of domestic flights:

Every time I've checked with a travel agency and online...every time I've ended up going with the online for a way better price and deal.

Not to say it doesn't happen...but so far I've always found a better deal online.

Itravel2000...escapes.ca.....expedia...travelocity...http://www.usairwaysvacations.com/ (for my Vegas and US trips).....the airlines directly (Westjet.com...Aircanada.com etc)

I just tried to get my agent to match expedia for a vegas trip and she can't compare. She can only get the same price at shitty hotels off the strip...

I'm not saying it doesn't happen but most travel agents make commission and have some overhead expenses to cover, compare that to an automated website and the winner cost wise is clear.

I booked a recent trip to Cuba through itravel2000.com. Couldn't find a better deal online or through a local travel agens.

Just had to print the documents and show them at the airport and hotel.
