Fort McMurray....cabins, chalets?

Is there any cabins os chalets in fort mac area. Originally was planning to go to Yellowknife to see aurora with the wife, but bunch of people here said it is crazy during winter, so I am trying to see if I can go to fort mac area and stat somewhere nice there. I been to fort mac for work like 3 times so i know it is a dump, but is there anywhere close where you can get a nice cabin or anything?

Damn i knew Fort Mac sux, didn't thikn it sucked this bad that there is nothing around to see. Google only shows some places where you have to fly in, we prefer to drive

Why dont you drive to Ft Nelson instead. They have hotsprings there and nice cabins/chalets etc.

Although, Fort Nelson is almost twice as far from Calgary. Around 16 hours driving time, plus breaks.

None that I know of. But a co=worker is opening a bed and breakfast if your into that?

Thanks for suggestions, i don't really care where it is, i just need somewhere where there is high probability of seeing the aurora
